About the Opportunity Join the Groote Eylandt Bickerton Island Primary College Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIPCAC) in a pivotal role connecting Anindilyakwa students with their land and culture.
As the Country and Culture Coordinator, you will plan and deliver the "Our Country Our Culture" (OCOC) program across four schools in the archipelago. This isn't just a desk job; you will be the bridge between the school curriculum and the real-world work of Indigenous Rangers and Traditional Owners.
What you will be doing:
* Facilitate: Coordinate logistics between schools, Ranger groups, and Elders to deliver Anindilyakwa-specific Learning on Country.
* Mentor: Engage and inspire upper primary and secondary students, helping them build practical skills for their future.
* Connect: Build deep, respectful relationships with the Anindilyakwa community to ensure programs are culturally grounded.
* Manage: Oversee program budgets and reporting to ensure the continued success of the OCOC initiative.
What we are looking for: We value a diverse range of backgrounds. You might be a fit if you come from:
* Conservation and Land Management
* Youth Work or Vocational Training
* Education or School-based roles
* Project Management with a passion for Indigenous engagement
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in any of the above background areas is required.
Requirements:
* A flexible "team player" attitude and strong organisational skills.
* Current Driver's Licence.
* NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) or the ability to obtain one.
* Full Australian working rights.
* Previous experience working with Indigenous communities is preferred but not essential.
* Availability to commence within 2 weeks is highly preferred for this position.
