Job Description
Orchard, a leading medical communications agency based in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Copywriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing compelling and accurate medical content for a diverse range of clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Translate complex medical/scientific concepts into clear, concise copy.
Create branded HCP campaign materials including websites, detail aids, leave-behind pieces, and emails.
Create HCP medical education campaign materials such as slide decks, invitations, workbooks, and other collateral.
Lead brands from both strategy and copy perspectives with minimal oversight.
Drive the editorial process from first draft to final proof; ensure accuracy and quality.
Partner with design, strategy, account and project management teams.
Ensure all content is on-brand and Code-compliant.
Drive copy and strategic perspectives in client meetings.
Manage competing priorities.
Provide oversight, guidance and support to junior writers.
Play a key role in researching and developing content for proposals and pitch presentations.
Stay up to date on current trends in medical education and pharma industry developments.
Qualifications
Graduate degree or PhD in a science discipline.
5+ years of medical-writing experience.
Experience in a HCP pharmaceutical advertising agency.
Expertise in claim development and subst.
Comfort working across multiple therapeutic areas and lifecycle stages (pre-launch to brand maintenance).
Strong presentation and pitching experience.
Clear understanding of Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.
Highly proficient with Veeva/PromoMats.
Meticulous attention to detail, quality and version control.
Strong time management in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
