We are seeking a Domestic Care Assistant who is committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.
As a Domestic Care Assistant, you will be:
Assisting clients with general housekeeping duties i.e. cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting as prescribed in the client's care plan
Assisting clients with food preparation and cooking of meals
Shopping for basic groceries on behalf of the client where requested
Providing social support activities which may include driving clients to appointments and assorted locations
Ensuring the client's home is hygienic and a safe environment that supports the promotion of independence
Recognising and responding to changes in a clients' condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required
Other things you may like to know:
You will be required to use your private vehicle for work purposes, with kilometre reimbursement offered for use of own vehicle
What skills and experience do you need to be aDCA?
This position is best suited for someone who has:
Has experience performing domestic duties to a high quality
Is genuinely empathetic with elderly clients and has a passion to work within the community service industry and enhance client's lives
Has excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to, and communicate effectively with all clients
Has an understanding of and commitment to working within professional boundaries
Is resilient, patient and calm under pressure
Understanding of specialised service delivery within diverse groups, specifically Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, Veterans, Disability, Mental Health, LGBTI+ and Homelessness is desirable
