Department of People, Sport and Culture (DPSC) is a multi-functional human services and community-focused agency that works to provide responsive, safe and quality services and programs that empower communities and improve social outcomes for Territorians.
Positioned within DPSC, the Araluen Cultural Precinct (ACP) is home to some of the most significant artistic, cultural and historical experiences in Alice Springs and provided a unique visitor experience, encompassing Central Australia's key cultural institutions and collections.
As the Technical Manager, you coordinate all technical aspects of the ACP, including the operation of the Araluen Theatre and the supervision and training of theatre technicians, and staff.
Your key responsibilities include the maintenance of all theatre technical equipment, providing technical and logistical support in regard to the development and implementation of functions and events, coordinating and participating in rehearsals and performances and assisting with the "bump‑in/bump‑out" of events and presentations. You will also be responsible for ensuring that safety standards and procedures, and good housekeeping standards are maintained.
Your sound knowledge of and experience in implementing, all aspects of technical theatre production, including production management, the operation of audio, audio‑visual, lighting cinema and mechanical equipment will be invaluable in delivering high‑quality visitor experience. As will, your highly developed interpersonal, communication and liaison skills will be best placed for dealing with a diverse range of internal and external clients and visitors.
