About the Role
Downer is looking for skilled
Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Technicians, or Fitters
to join our Brisbane team. This hybrid role combines workshop maintenance with field service, maintaining and repairing heavy plant machinery and trucks across multiple sites. Perfect for those who thrive on variety, hands-on work, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, repair, and maintain heavy plant machinery and trucks
* Provide field breakdown support and fault diagnostics
* Ensure all work meets Downer's safety and operational standards
* Collaborate with a skilled team while also working independently
What You'll Bring
* Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics, or Fitting (essential)
* Strong hydraulic knowledge and fault-finding skills
* Experience with mobile plant, trucks, and heavy equipment
* Auto electrical experience highly regarded
* HR and Forklift licences desirable
* Proactive, safety-first mindset
