About The Role

The Team Leader – Family Violence Services leads a team of Specialist Family Violence Practitioners and Program Support Workers across the Bayside Peninsula to deliver trauma-informed high quality service to adults and children who have experienced or are experiencing family violence, including victim survivors with complex needs. This role sits within an integrated leadership team providing extensive knowledge and expertise to Good Shepherd's family violence programs in Bayside Peninsula and after hours support programs.

In this role, you will lead and support a skilled team to deliver safe, effective and evidence-informed responses to victim survivors. You will oversee day-to-day operations, provide supervision and practice guidance, manage service capacity and quality, and contribute to continuous improvement across family violence programs.

Over the 12 months whilst covering for parental leave until March 2027, you will be based in our Hastings hub, however there will be travel between various sites around the Mornington peninsula.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, support and supervise a team of Specialist Family Violence Practitioners and Program Support Workers, building capability and performance
* Provide reflective supervision, mentoring and performance support, including managing performance improvement where required
* Ensure delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed services aligned with funding agreements, organisational values and best practice
* Oversee responses across crisis, brief intervention and longer-term case management, ensuring effective risk assessment and safety planning
* Provide culturally responsive, evidence-informed services to adult and child victim survivors, recognising children as victim survivors in their own right
* Manage service capacity, throughput and referrals to ensure timely and safe responses
* Oversee the Afterhours Program, including roster management and quality service delivery outside business hours
* Monitor risk, promote healing and recovery, and support ongoing review of practice through an intersectional trauma-informed lens
* Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including housing and accommodation providers
* Ensure accurate data collection, reporting and compliance with organisational, funding and legislative requirements
* Contribute to service improvement, innovation and the development of resources, frameworks and best practice aligned with MARAM
* Hold a caseload of clients as required

About you

* A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline meeting Rec209 mandatory requirements, or a Graduate Certificate in Family Violence
* Experience supervising and supporting practitioners in high-risk environments
* Demonstrated experience working in the family violence sector with victim survivors with complex needs
* Strong knowledge of family violence impacts and the application of relevant theoretical frameworks, including MARAM
* Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail
* Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent matters
* A current Victorian Driver's Licence

Family Violence Minimum Mandatory Qualifications under Recommendation 209

As per the minimum mandatory qualifications, all candidates wishing to apply for this role must be able to demonstrate that they:

* are considered EXEMPT under the policy OR
* hold a Bachelor of Social Work or other equivalent qualification OR
* have minimum 5 years relevant professional experience, OR a related qualification as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements. OR
* hold significant cultural knowledge and experience or lived experience, and have faced barriers to educational pathways
