Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer – Water to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. You will design and manage projects in water and wastewater treatment, reservoirs, pump stations and conveyance pipelines, and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
* Design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, pump stations and conveyance pipelines.
* Review design requirements, conduct site investigations, perform calculations and modelling.
* Oversee drafting and prepare technical reports and specifications.
* Build strong client relationships, understand client business, and deliver solutions on and off site.
* Provide specialist knowledge, technical review and advice in your area of expertise.
* Lead and manage multi‑disciplinary project teams, delivering practical and economical solutions.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications
* Holding a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
* Significant experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or hydraulic and conveyance design.
* Knowledge of Australian standards, WSAA codes, safety in design, constructability and operational practices.
* Experience managing medium to large engineering design projects within HSEQ systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to travel as required.
* Experience writing successful bids for existing and new clients.
