Our client is a national engineering consultancy company with expertise across multiple disciplines, delivering comprehensive services and innovative solutions tailored to the needs of the development, property, and urban infrastructure sectors. They are currently looking for a Environmental Manager to join their team in Adelaide.
About the role:
* Supervise and lead a team of environmental professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
* Oversee environmental projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulations.
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their environmental concerns, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction.
* Stay up-to-date with environmental regulations and ensure that projects comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
* Conduct environmental assessments, including site inspections, data collection, and analysis, to identify potential environmental impacts.
* Prepare comprehensive reports detailing environmental findings, recommendations, and mitigation measures.
* Provide training to staff on environmental regulations, best practices, and company policies.
* Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of environmental data and reports.
* Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenditures, and ensuring projects remain within budget constraints.
* Identify and mitigate environmental risks associated with construction projects, ensuring the safety of workers and the environment.
* Assist in business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and identifying new business opportunities.
* Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and construction teams, to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into project planning and execution
Skills and Experience:
* Qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
* At least 10 years of experience in delivering environmental projects, including due diligence, contaminated land investigations (including assessment for environmental audits), risk assessment, and remediation
* Certification as a Site Contamination Practitioner
* Thorough knowledge of current environmental legislation, standards, and guidelines
* Proven expertise in project management within the relevant industry
* Experience in team management and structuring
* Strong skills in client contact, liaison, and management
* Proficiency in field sampling techniques
* Established relationships with builders, developers, architects, urban planners, and project managers (highly desirable)
* Experience with computer software such as ESdat, gINT, ProUCL, Surfer, GW Chart, etc. (highly desirable)
* A valid driver's license
