Environmental Scientist Role Overview
This position involves leading environmental science projects across Australia, focusing on mine closure and rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Mine Closure, Rehabilitation, Soil Science, Geological Science, and/or Restoration Ecology.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership to the team and broader business.
* Manage project delivery throughout the lifecycle, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality results.
* Develop mine closure plans, including critical review of feasibility.
* Prepare clear, concise technical reports.
* Identify market opportunities and contribute to business strategies.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Restoration Ecology, Geochemistry, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
* Professional experience relevant to the role, preferably with an environmental consultancy or mining company.
* Working knowledge of international closure standards and guidelines as well as state-based Australian environmental legislation and policies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
