Senior Project Officer Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Project Officer to join our team in delivering culturally safe and evidence-based heart health education and support for First Nations people in South Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in the health sector or equivalent, who is committed to addressing health inequities and promoting self-determination for First Nations communities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver the First Nations Heart Health Project South Australia project, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and collaboration with key stakeholders.
* Engage with and foster strong connections and partnerships that support better health outcomes for First Nations people, including community development initiatives.
* Develop and deliver culturally appropriate resources, education, and training programs, as well as targeted communications strategies to promote these resources.
* Prepare and deliver key reports both internally and to funding bodies, providing insights into program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
* Work collaboratively across functions and with external stakeholders to integrate and translate the latest research, evidence, and insights into programs and activities.
* Represent the organization at key events and meetings, contributing to relevant policy, advocacy, and development activities related to First Nations Health.

Requirements:

* Relevant experience in a health-related field or equivalent, with knowledge of issues affecting First Nations Health.
* Demonstrated cultural understanding and sensitivity, with experience working directly with First Nations communities.
* Program and project planning and management skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to develop and deliver training and education resources for diverse audiences.
* Ability to travel to communities across South Australia, with potential interstate travel.
