The Imperial Hotel Murwillumbah – affectionately known as The Impy – is looking for a talented, passionate Full-Time Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a full-time, ongoing role (38 hours per week) based in the heart of Murwillumbah, NSW.
We’re on the hunt for someone who thrives in a busy kitchen, loves working with fresh, locally sourced produce, and shares our commitment to sustainability and minimising food waste. You’ll be excited to help shape the future of The Impy’s evolving food offering while working with seasonal ingredients from right here in the Northern Rivers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working alongside our Head Chef to prep and deliver a fresh, seasonal bistro menu (lunch + dinner, 7 days a week)
- Helping develop specials and contributing creative ideas for our menus
- Taking the lead when needed – from supervising apprentices to supporting the team day-to-day
- Keeping the kitchen humming with smooth processes and solid organisation
What we’re looking for:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- A team player with great attention to detail, initiative, and a positive attitude
- Someone who enjoys mentoring junior chefs and contributing to a supportive, close-knit crew
- Passion for local produce, sustainability and being part of a forward-thinking kitchen
