We're now looking for a strategic and people-focused General Manager People and Culture to join our Executive Team. This role is pivotal in shaping and strengthening our organisational culture, workforce capability and employee experience across both staff and volunteers. You'll lead the People and Culture function with a strong focus on inclusive leadership, wellbeing, workforce strategy and continuous improvement, ensuring our staff and volunteers feel supported, empowered and connected to purpose.
Reporting to the CEO and an integral member of the Executive Team, you'll partner with leaders across the organisation to build a high-performing, values-driven culture that supports sustainable growth and exceptional service delivery. Just as importantly, you'll be someone who leads with empathy, integrity and authenticity.
Responsibilities
* Leading the P&C strategy aligned to organisational priorities and mission
* Driving workforce planning, talent attraction, engagement and retention initiatives
* Partnering with leaders to strengthen performance, leadership capability and organisational development
* Leading employee and industrial relations matters, ensuring compliance and best practice
* Championing wellbeing, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation
* Overseeing volunteer engagement strategies and student placement programs
* Driving learning & development, compliance training and workforce capability uplift
* Leading WHS initiatives, return to work coordination and compliance reporting
* Providing strategic workforce insights, reporting and recommendations to the CEO and Board
* Oversight of the Pastoral Care Coordinator and the Pastoral Care program
About you
You're an experienced senior HR leader who combines strategic thinking with a genuine passion for people and culture. You're confident influencing at executive level while remaining approachable, collaborative and hands‐on in your leadership style.
You will bring tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology or a related discipline, with significant senior HR leadership experience, ideally gained within the not-for-profit or community sector. To be successful in the role you will have a strong understanding of employment legislation, industrial relations and workforce compliance. You are experienced in leading organisational culture, engagement and leadership development initiatives and are recognised for your ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. Importantly, you lead with empathy, emotional intelligence and a values-driven, inclusive approach.
