Electrical Project Engineer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Engineer to join our team in a brownfield environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in low voltage and high voltage electrical systems, as well as knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to electrical engineering.
This role involves supervising a team of electrical work packages, estimating project staffing needs and schedules, preparing discipline estimates and work plans, and reviewing and approving electrical investigations and studies.
The successful applicant will be responsible for driving high-quality work plans, implementing electrical components successfully, providing team support, and ensuring project performance.
* Plan, develop, direct, and participate in day-to-day electrical engineering activity on small to medium-sized projects or a portion of a major project.
* Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of personnel assigned, estimate staffing needs and schedules, and assign work accordingly.
* Provide technical input to meet procurement requirements.
* Prepare or oversee the preparation of electrical discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
* Review and make recommendations on the electrical engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.
* Coordinate with client representatives to obtain their approval of electrical engineering aspects of the work when directed.
* Review and approve key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders for the project assigned.
* Ensure that assigned electrical engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience.
* Relevant work experience in a brownfield environment, particularly in mining or large industrial plants.
* Experience with Low Voltage and High Voltage Electrical Systems.
* Knowledge of engineering systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computer applications within the Electrical Engineering discipline.
* Ability to travel to site regularly to undertake site investigations.
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards relevant to Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in scoping work and package management.
* Excellent communication skills with ability to liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
