About The Role
We have two exciting leadership opportunities within TasNetworks, for experienced Control Room Team Leaders. In this key role, you'll lead real-time network operations teams to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Tasmania's power system—24/7.
You'll build a high-performance control room culture, oversee real-time operations across transmission and distribution networks, and play a key role in outage management, emergency response and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
* Lead and develop 24/7 Control Room Operators, fostering a safe, engaged and high-performing team culture
* Oversee real-time network operations, ensuring safe, compliant and customer-focused outcomes
* Manage planned and unplanned outages to optimise safety, cost, timeliness and customer impact
* Provide on-desk support, shift relief and participate in after-hours on-call and incident response rosters
* Support emergency management responses to major system events
* Drive continuous improvement through process, technology and change initiatives
* Monitor and manage network performance metrics, reporting against regulatory and corporate requirements
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, access protocols and legislated obligations
About You
You're a confident operational leader with deep control room experience and a strong understanding of power system operations.
You'll bring
* Extensive experience in a transmission or distribution control room environment
* Strong people leadership skills, including managing shift teams, performance and rosters
* Advanced knowledge of real-time network operation technologies and smart network evolution
* Sound understanding of regulatory obligations, network performance benchmarks and compliance
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to train, coach and support technical staff in operational processes and procedures
Qualifications or experience in Electrical Power Engineering with experience in transmission or distribution networks and/or emergency and incident management will also set you up for success in this role.
