Fixed Term, Full time + ADO until 31st December 2026About The RoleAs part of the Digital Health Infrastructure Systems team, the Cloud Engineer will work within the team that provides system administration and support of the Grampains Health (GH) cloud environment primarily within Microsoft’s Azure and 365 platforms.The Cloud Engineer will have a strong focus on supporting GH’s cloud infrastructure, services and platforms (SaaS & PaaS Services) along with providing project support to Electronic Medical Record (EMR) project. This role also involves working with the team to support some of the traditional on-premises systems by bringing existing cloud and automation skills to help manage that environment more effectively in a hybrid manner.You will be an advocate for automation, the development of cloud operations skills within the organisation and support the team’s growing portfolio of critical applications which run from within Grampians Health’s cloud. Additionally, you will provide leadership on technologies and practices while working with vendors to ensure appropriate cloud implementations. Other activities include building and maintaining servers by means of installing and testing patches and upgrades to operating systems, configuration, performance monitoring, backups, developing and testing scripts, database administration, setting up test environments, and assisting with the diagnosis and rectification of faults across all Grampians Health sites.About the Grampians Health (GH) Electronic Medical Records (EMR) ProjectThe GH EMR Project is a large-scale clinical transformation project across Grampians Health, and an opportunity to be part of the organisation’s digital transformation journey. The EMR project aims to deliver a comprehensive digital patient record across the ambulatory and inpatient areas of GH. The GH EMR project team will be responsible for designing, building and implementing the new EMR, drawing on clinical, health informatics, technology and change expertise. The target completion of the project is late 2026. The GH EMR project team will also work collaboratively with the EMR project team at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne as we partner to deliver a shared EMR.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership in the support and administration of the organisation’s public cloud platforms, SaaS, PaaS Integration, and application delivery.Provide EMR Project team support in technical deliverables related to Azure security, Entra ID, Azure Active Directory sync and other Azure integration activities.Continually improve the automation, security and system management of the cloud platforms and the software and tools used to run and maintain them.Troubleshooting and fault rectification for Cloud and on-premise server-based operating systems, database management systems, and application/web servers.Collaborate with the GH System Administration and Integration teams for cohesive system design and solutions.Assist in ensuring GH IT security is kept at a high standard by ensuring that all work is completed by incorporating appropriate security controls when designing or updating any system.Skills, Qualifications And ExperienceTertiary degree in information technology, computer science or computer systems engineering discipline, or relevant Industry experience and / or Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, Azure Engineer etc.5+ years’ experience with delivering cloud and virtualisation technologies, and other IT services in medium to large organisations.Proven experience in supporting production cloud environments in Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS.Experience and knowledge of virtualisation and hybrid cloud solutions, e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Local.An in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems, services, and applications.Understanding of the ITIL Framework.To see a full copy of the Position Description please click here.Interested?Click APPLY or if you wish to discuss the role prior to applying, contact Paul Mibus, IT Systems Manager on 03 5320 4600 or paul.mibus@gh.org.au for a confidential discussion.We're actively seeking candidates for this role and will review applications as they are submitted.
