Our stunning care home, Formby Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built facility located in Formby, Merseyside. The home is registered to provide care for 76 residents with a variety of needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. The home meets all CQC requirements and invests in enhancements such as the OOMPH activities and wellbeing programme, electronic medication records, acoustic monitoring, and silent nurse call systems.
Formby Manor maintains a zero agency usage policy for over four years by employing a permanent staff team familiar with residents, ensuring continuity and trust. All staff are paid at least the national minimum wage or above.
We are seeking to appoint a kind, enthusiastic, and fun Wellbeing Assistant to join our team. The role involves creating a caring and inclusive culture around therapeutic activities, supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator, and developing a comprehensive programme that involves the entire team. The position offers a 25-hour contract at an hourly rate of £12.21. Shift times are 10:00-15:00 with alternate weekends, with some flexibility required to meet the needs of the business.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to creating weekly activity programmes to stimulate residents' physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
2. Develop innovative programmes to help residents achieve their capabilities.
3. Motivate and guide staff to incorporate wellbeing activities into their roles.
4. Familiarize with each resident's life story and Wellbeing and Activity plan, contributing to their review.
5. Ensure risk assessments are up-to-date for all activities, in liaison with the Wellbeing Coordinator.
6. Understand the needs of residents with various conditions.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all residents and contacts.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience working with older people.
2. Experience delivering activity programmes.
3. Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate activity needs.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to prioritize and handle emergencies effectively.
