About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Estimator to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for preparing complex and competitive quotations and tenders for low voltage switchboards. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate, timely submissions while supporting strategic growth through mentoring, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
What you'll be doing:
Interpret and analyse detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documents to produce comprehensive and accurate estimates.
Develop costings for materials, labour, and equipment in line with project scope and budget expectations.
Lead the preparation of tenders and quotations, ensuring consistency with company pricing strategies and profitability targets.
Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to identify cost-effective solutions and ensure alignment across all estimating activities.
Identify and assess project risks, incorporating them into estimates and mitigation strategies.
Oversee and manage the Quote Register, including follow-ups and conversion tracking.
Conduct post-project reviews and cost analysis to enhance estimating accuracy and project delivery outcomes.
Manage the estimating team and provide leadership, training, and mentoring to junior estimators, including workload delegation and skill development.
Contribute to the ongoing refinement of estimating tools, systems, and procedures to drive efficiency and consistency.
What we're looking for:
Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in the mining, electrical switchboard manufacturing, or other similar industry.
Strong technical knowledge of low voltage switchboard construction, with a thorough understanding of AS***** and other relevant standards.
Experience in estimating software and AutoCAD (desirable).
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Highly organised, with a strong eye for detail and a solid grasp of commercial and financial principles.
Proven ability to manage multiple tenders and deliver results within tight timeframes.
Demonstrated experience in team leadership and mentoring.
