The Department of Defence seeks a highly skilled and experienced acoustic analyst leader to oversee a team of acoustic analysts.
Job Summary:
The acoustic analyst leader will be responsible for analysing acoustic data sourced in the maritime environment, characterising Navy systems and platforms using advanced software tools and custom databases.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a small team of acoustic analysts, focusing on areas of interest defined through operational requirements.
Conduct analysis at the Australian Joint Acoustic Analysis Centre (AJAAC) at HMAS Albatross, Nowra NSW.
Maintain close relationships with Commanding Officers and Information Warfare Forces under Fleet Command.
Collaborate with Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force personnel, as well as Australian Public Sector staff.
Deliver analysed intelligence to support the broader ADF community and its allies.
Work effectively in an environment with short-notice requirements, prioritising tasks and managing multiple projects.
Requirements:
A degree in physics, mathematics, or engineering is essential.
Proven experience in acoustic analysis, preferably in a defence context.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
