Overview
We currently have an opportunity available for capable and experienced road workers to join a roads maintenance team based at Ballina. This role will involve general labouring duties, however applicants with plant operating and/or truck driving experience are encouraged to apply and may be given the opportunity to step up to a higher pay grade when undertaking those duties. Relevant plant operating will include rollers, loaders, skid-steer and excavators. Truck driving up to HR level would be advantageous.
Commencing late January, this role will involve working full time hours for a period of approximately 6 months initially with potential for further work, depending on satisfactory performance and operational needs. An attractive hourly pay rate is being offered, including overtime penalties for additional hours of work.
Note: these roles will involve travelling and staying away for up to a week at a time, with regular overtime available.
Eligibility & Requirements
Successful Applicants will need;
Current WHS White Card
Worker On Foot card
- or willingness to obtain prior to start of work (online link able to be provided for successful applicant)
Plant Operating experience
preferred - formal licence or VOC ideal but not essential
Unrestricted driver licence
- with HR licence or above preferred
Traffic control ticket/s
- preferred but not essential
good all round fitness for manual work tasks
previous experience with road construction or maintenance will be highly regarded
Applicants will need to be fit for physically demanding work, and be a genuine team player.
