We're looking for a Leading Hand / Machine Operator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on machinery expertise with leadership skills, and who enjoys working outdoors in dynamic, often remote locations.

About the Role
As a Leading Hand / Machine Operator, you'll be responsible for both operating machinery and leading a small on-site crew. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate machinery including excavators and other trail-building equipment
* Supervise day-to-day activities on-site and support team coordination
* Read and interpret plans to ensure trail design specifications are met
* Communicate effectively with project managers and crew
* Maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with WHS standards
* Conduct basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting

What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Proven experience operating excavators in trail-building.
* Previous experience leading or supervising a small team
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and environmental best practices
* Ability to work independently in remote outdoor environments
* Current driver's licence and Construction White Card
Desirable:
* WHS and Environmental training
* First Aid certification
* 4WD skills and machinery tickets
