Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care. In this role, you will: • Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies • Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director • Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic • Work a part time roster of 15 hours per week - no split shifts, no night shifts and no weekend work! About Goodstart Bayview Heights: Our beautiful centre accommodates 75 children daily across five distinct rooms and features three spacious yards. It boasts a dedicated, separate Kindergarten yard, abundant shade, natural elements, and a variety of loose parts for creative play. Conveniently located near two shopping centres and just across the road from a local primary school, the centre offers flexible working arrangements where possible to promote staff work: life balance work. The team includes staff who speak Spanish, English, and First Nations languages, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. Our Centre Director provides mentorship to all staff members, offering guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development. She demonstrates the values and behaviours expected from the team, including maintaining a professional attitude, showing dedication to the children's education and well-being, and consistently applying best practices in childcare. By actively engaging in daily activities and interactions, the Director sets a standard for staff to follow, along with providing constructive feedback, and encouraging continuous learning through training and educational programs. By fostering an environment of trust and collaboration, the Director helps each team member grow in their role, ensuring high-quality care and education for the children.
