The Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and culturally aware Psychologist to join our Aboriginal Health Service team. This is a key role supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal individuals and families across lutruwita/Tasmania.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high‑quality, culturally safe therapeutic care within a holistic, community‑centered model.
About the Opportunity
* Psychological assessments and treatment planning
* Culturally safe counselling for individuals, couples, families, and groups
* Managing complex clinical cases and risk assessments
* Developing and reviewing case management plans
* Providing outreach and community-based therapeutic support
* Collaborating with TAC clinicians, counsellors, aftercare workers, and external providers
* Maintaining accurate clinical records and supporting continuity of care
What You’ll Bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Psychology
* Eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body
* Experience in counselling, group work, case management, and clinical assessments
* High‑level communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience working with Aboriginal people or an understanding of issues affecting the Tasmanian Aboriginal community
* Strong clinical judgement and ethical practice
Desirable
* Medicare accreditation
* Experience in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation or community/health setting
* Knowledge of Tasmanian Aboriginal culture, community, and protocols

Remuneration and Benefits
* Salary Range $99,000 - $140,000 per annum + Salary Packaging
* 16% superannuation
