About the Role
The Medical Registrar will work across the North West region hospitals, responsible for day‐to‐day clinical management of both public and private inpatients and outpatients. The role includes shift work, after‐hours on‐call roster, and participation in an accredited training program in General Medicine administered by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient and outpatient medical care, support multidisciplinary teams, apply advanced clinical decision‐making skills, and contribute to teaching and supervision of junior staff as part of the RACP training pathway.
Eligibility and Requirements
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current driver's licence.
* Eligibility to meet all State Service background check requirements.
Appointment Details
* Fixed‐term, full‐time position: 12‐month contract with potential extension.
* Hours: 76 hours per fortnight, including 10 hours paid education time. Structured education roster occurs every 4 weeks; self‐directed learning is scheduled in the second fortnight.
* Shift‐worker; hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
* Start date: as soon as possible, until 5 February 2028.
Salary
Medical Practitioner Level 5‐11: $134,930–$183,500 per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging. Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.
