Kirinari Community Services has a fantastic opportunity to secure employment with a well-recognised, rapidly expanding and essential support service. We have an opportunity in the Katoomba NSW region for an experienced Team Leader – Disability to join our agile team.

About The Position
As a Team Leader, you will oversee the implementation of individualised supports within a supported independent living accommodation setting (SIL/Group Homes). You will strengthen the knowledge and abilities of our Support Worker team to ensure a person-centered and high-quality culture within the program. You will provide direct support and lead your team across a range of customer needs including domestic and personal care assistance, and helping customers access and connect with the community. This position ensures the operation of an allocated SIL/s with administrative functions while providing leadership and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers.
This is a Part-time Permanent position and will commence as soon as practicable.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of individualised supports in SIL/Group Homes
- Lead and mentor a team of Disability Support Workers
- Provide direct support including domestic and personal care assistance
- Support customers to access and engage with the community
- Manage administrative duties for the SIL
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience 3-5 years in the health sector is highly regarded
- Experience as a Team Leader/Supervisor in Supported Employment or Day Programs is preferable
- Certificate IV or higher in a related field
- Demonstrated leadership/management experience
- Ability and willingness to work shift work, sleepovers/active nights, weekends and public/school holidays with significant availability
- Resilience, confidence and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and ability to develop positive relationships
- Ability to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to commencement
- Ability to obtain paid NSW and VIC Working with Children Checks prior to commencement
- Proficiency with computers and various software/programs; smartphone use
- Current Driver’s Licence
