Biomedical Sciences Lecturer
The position of Biomedical Sciences Lecturer is a critical role in teaching, engage in scholarship and/or research and/or professional activities appropriate for the discipline of Biomedical Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to disciplinary teaching pedagogy, curriculum design, development and review.
Key responsibilities include developing, coordinating and teaching in areas of biochemistry, pharmacology or immunology and infectious disease. Delivering high-quality learning experiences that engage students through tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations and workshops is also crucial. The candidate will demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching and keep abreast of innovations in teaching and learning.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/discipline as appropriate for the relevant discipline areas. They should have demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
A commitment to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner, including engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and knowledges is essential. High-level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively collaboratively and productively with staff and students are also required.
