The role
Description Downer is seeking an experienced Recycle Foreperson to oversee and drive the day‑to‑day operations of our Reclaimed Asphalt Pavements (RAP) facility in Bayswater, ensuring efficient production, safe work practices, and exceptional service delivery to our internal customers. You will play a critical role in supervising RAP operations to support asphalt production requirements. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity where you will work closely with production, maintenance, laboratory and compliance teams to deliver high‑quality processed RAP products and maintain reliable plant performance. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily RAP operations to meet production targets. Maintain plant equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and maximum uptime. Foster strong internal relationships with Production Engineers, Supervisors, Maintenance, Laboratory and Compliance teams. Investigate operational issues and incidents as required. Prepare reports and contribute to short-term production planning. Support a positive workplace culture through proactive leadership. Ensure safe work practices are followed in alignment with Downer’s Zero Harm standards. What You’ll Bring Minimum 5 years’ experience in quarries, crushing/screening operations or similar heavy industrial operations preferred. Front End Loader, Skid Steer, Excavator and/or Dozer licence highly regarded. Strong understanding of materials handling and processing. Proven ability to follow processes diligently. Strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards. Collaborative communication style with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships. Sound computer literacy and ability to enter and manage operational data.
