This position sits within the healthcare sector and provides financial reporting and compliance support ensuring the integrity of financial accounts, strong internal controls and adherence to policies and Australian accounting standards.
Your new role
As the Financial Accounting Officer, you will contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting, including general ledger reconciliations, month-end processes and audit support, while assisting in maintaining financial records and systems.Working within the Finance team, you will support financial management activities through data analysis, issue identification and continuous improvement, and provide advice and support to stakeholders to ensure effective financial practices across the service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Support end‑of‑month processes, including reconciliations, journals, accruals and financial controls.
* Maintain accurate financial records, registers and reporting in line with standards and audit requirements.
* Process supplier set‑ups, corporate credit card administration and ensure compliance with probity requirements.
* Assist with statutory, regulatory and taxation reporting, including annual accounts and FBT data collection.
* Prepare timely management reports and financial information to meet monthly and compliance deadlines.
* Contribute to internal control reviews and continuous improvement of financial systems, policies and processes.
* Provide clear financial analysis, advice and customer‑focused support to internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage priorities effectively, meet competing deadlines and contribute positively to a collaborative, high‑performing team.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Business (Finance) is highly desirable; eligibility for CPA Australia (or similar) will be well regarded.
* Experience in financial accounting, including reconciliations, journals and month‑end activities.
* Understanding of financial controls, compliance and reporting obligations.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain records.
* Well‑developed organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, with a customer‑focused approach.
