**Position Summary**
The Policy Specialist will straddle two inter-related work streams and play a key role in ensuring alignment between these work streams and associated activities to support the successful delivery of the Program.
**Specific Duties / Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the program work plans and negotiation strategy.
- Provide input to drafting instructions to Lawyers.
- Support the scoping, development and costing of options for Australian Government consideration.
- Support the development of operating parameters and an operating model for a potential new entity through consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support stakeholder engagement with state and territory governments including scheduling of meetings, recording stakeholder comments and feedback.
- Contribute to the development of high-level written material, submissions and briefs.
- Identify and manage risks and issues including escalation of risks and issues where required.
- General administrative support.
**Essential Skills / Experience**
- Strong policy development and implementation
- Ability to draft well-written papers including submissions and briefs.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office.
**To be successful in this role, the individual will need a minimum Baseline Security Clearance.**
**They will also need to have strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills, good organisational and writing skills and attention to detail of a high order.**
