Position Information
Merrylands High School is a comprehensive co‐educational secondary school with an enrollment of 850 students, of whom 82% come from a non‐English speaking background. The school's strategic directions include Student Growth and Attainment, Collaborative Practices in Numeracy, Attendance and Connection, and a strong focus on academic achievement, student engagement, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), innovative technology, meaningful community participation, and whole‐school professional learning.
Qualifications
* Full approval to teach Technology (mandatory for Years 7–8) and Industrial Technology – Timber.
* Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in Construction, meeting the qualification entry benchmark.
* Demonstrated capacity to contribute to faculty and whole‐school programs.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a team.
* Expertise in teaching learners from a low SES background and those with a language background other than English.
Conditions and Rewards
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (conditions apply). The bonus is paid pro‐rata for permanent part‐time teachers and executive staff, with a maximum bonus of $20,000, including any job‐share arrangements.
An unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

* No changes (increase or decrease) will be permitted at the point of offer for the recommended applicant.
* If no FTE is indicated, the full FTE of the advertised role will be assumed.
* Recommended applicants seeking part‐time employment will be appointed at their nominated FTE. Any remaining FTE may be offered to applicants on the eligibility list, who are not obliged to accept.
