About This Role
We invite academic professionals to collaborate with the Australian Research Centre for Gravitational Wave Discovery at The University of Queensland.
The research team focuses on testing fundamental physics with gravitational waves, exploring cosmology and gravitational wave theory, and applications from all areas of gravitational wave astrophysics are welcome.
OzGrav was established in 2017 to explore the physics of black holes and warped space-time, and has received significant funding to support Centre operations.
The Centre offers a flexible research environment across the gravitational-wave spectrum, access to generous resources and travel support, and participation in large-scale projects. Members have the opportunity to contribute to the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA Scientific Collaboration.
Key responsibilities include:
* Establishing a research program, collaborating on research projects, seeking and managing research funding, publishing in reputable journals, utilizing best practice research methodologies, and participating in project discussions.
* Supervising students, providing performance feedback and training, resolving conflicts, and promoting researcher development.
* Developing partnerships, demonstrating leadership through mentoring, engaging in internal service roles and committees, engaging in outreach activities, providing support to colleagues, and upholding university values.
