About The Opportunity
At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this, we are seeking a Parks and Open Spaces Coordinator to join our Infrastructure and Recreation Operations team.

This role is responsible for coordinating the maintenance of Council's parks, reserves, sports fields, beaches, cemeteries and public gardens. You will lead and support a team of staff, coordinate daily maintenance programs, manage documentation and budgets, and ensure works are completed safely and to a high standard.

You will work closely with the Open Spaces Operations Manager to deliver planned works, respond to customer requests, support staff and ensure Council's open spaces are safe, well maintained and fit for community use.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Have

* Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Horticulture or equivalent relevant experience
* Recent experience supervising staff in horticulture, turf management, landscaping or a related field
* Sound knowledge of plant and equipment, chemicals, irrigation systems and maintenance practices
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads, priorities and timeframes
* Intermediate computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite
* Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety obligations as both an employee and supervisor
* Ability to work independently while supporting and directing staff and contractors
* Current Class C Driver Licence

On a Typical Day This Role Will

* Lead and support Parks and Open Spaces staff, providing guidance and mentoring
* Coordinate mowing, grounds and vegetation maintenance across parks, reserves, sports fields, beaches, gardens and cemeteries
* Assist with recruitment activities, including participating on interview panels
* Identify and manage safety, training and HR-related matters within the team
* Coordinate inspections of parks and open space assets and follow up required actions
* Review quotes, tenders and operational documentation to ensure work stays within approved budgets
* Review project designs to ensure they are practical, visually appropriate and easy to maintain
* Oversee customer requests through the CRM system and ensure they are investigated and resolved
* Support planning activities, including inspections, plant replacement and compliance

Remuneration And Benefits
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)

Starting salary of $97,130.47 to $108,719.03 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus 12% Super and on call allowance.

This role also qualifies for a Leaseback or Vehicle allowance.
