The Role: National HSE Operations Manager
Our HSE department has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and career minded HSE Operations Manager - to be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth. This is a full time, permanent opportunity.
The National HSE Operations Manager position is at the forefront of providing national oversight of operational safety programs, injury management, risk management, compliance, internal audit programs, and continuous improvement activities.
This role leads and develops the HSE Leads and ensures effective coordination, governance, and delivery of HSE initiatives across the East and West Coast operations.
This is a high-impact role championing the implementation of Sadleirs Corporate HSE strategy, empowering teams to embrace best practices, and shaping a workplace that is not only safe and healthy—but also environmentally responsible.
What will you be doing?
* Leading the implementation of the Corporate HSE strategy within operational environments nationally
* Overseeing national operational HSE programs, ensuring alignment with policy, standards, procedures, and legislative obligations
* Providing leadership, mentoring, and coaching to HSE Leads, building capability and ensuring consistent execution of HSE expectations across regions
* Championing safety culture and operational safety leadership, promoting proactive risk management and visible safety behaviours across all sites
* Overseeing compliance with the HSE management system, ensuring operational adherence, continuous improvement, and effective change management
* Leading the national operational audit and assurance program, including field verification, inspections, and management system reviews
* Monitoring national HSE performance data, trends, emerging risks and legislative changes; provide insights, reporting and recommendations to the Head of HSE and operational leadership
* Overseeing serious incident investigations nationally, ensuring root cause analysis, quality of investigations, and implementation of preventative actions.
* Embracing additional responsibilities that align with the organisation's safety vision and values as directed by the Head of HSE.
Qualifications/ Experience Required
* Minimum 7–10 years' experience as a HSE professional with significant leadership responsibilities
* Tertiary qualifications in OHS and/or experience in a similar role
* Experience in transport or logistics environments will be highly regarded
* Transport/Logistics industry experience highly regarded
* Proven experience leading multi‐site or national HSE teams
* Demonstrated success in driving organisational HSE improvements and cultural change
* Experience in managing investigations, audits, and operational HSE programs
* Current C Class Driver's Licence
