Our client specialises in the manufacturing and production of tasty Italian Smallgoods products, delivering high-quality products that meet the highest industry standards. Based in Thomastown and as a leader in the meat industry, we are committed to ensuring the safety, quality, microbiology and excellence of our products. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Quality Assurance Employee to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Employee will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our quality management system for smallgoods production. This position requires a strong understanding of quality assurance practices, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hands on Quality Assurance work on the Production Floor.
* Oversee and manage the quality assurance processes for smallgoods production for all products.
* Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures and policies.
* Assist with the management of the entire Quality Assurance system encompassing Prime Safe Licenses. for all sites (Thomastown and Melton), SQF, Woolworths Supplier Excellence and Coles Supplier programs ensuring monitoring of all critical control points in the processing plant and making recommendations to Management on food safety and other quality issues.
* Assist in the management of the DAFF (Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry- AQIS) license program for imported meat.
* Attend all Quality audits in Thomastown and assist in the preparation and supervise the preparation of documentation by the Quality Assurance team for all quality audits.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance and Microbiology.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the meat or food industry, with a focus on smallgoods.
* In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and relevant food safety regulations.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent time management skills
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
* Proficient in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
