Our client is seeking an experienced full-time Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:
* Designing and planning electrical systems supporting fire detection and alarm infrastructure, including smoke and heat detectors, fire indicator panels (FIP), EWIS systems, and occupant warning systems
* Determining the configuration and integration of circuits, switchboards, control panels, and backup power systems for safety-critical operations
* Developing and improving electrical components and control equipment used in fire detection and alarm systems
* Interpreting technical specifications, engineering drawings, and Australian Standards related to electrical and fire safety systems
* Coordinating resources and procurement of electrical equipment, components, and materials required for installation, commissioning, and maintenance projects
* Scheduling and overseeing the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, including switchgear, cabling, and control devices
* Supervising testing, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure reliability and compliance with safety regulations
* Designing and implementing control and monitoring systems for automated fire detection and emergency response functions
* Performing electrical load calculations, system modelling, and technical analysis to ensure optimal system performance and compliance
* Supporting continuous improvement of fire detection systems and integration of smart control technologies
Experience and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
* At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in fire detection and alarm systems
* Familiarity with Australian industry standards, regulations, and safety codes (e.g., AS 1670, AS 3000)
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for electrical systems
* Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams
* Capability to perform detailed calculations for electrical load capacities and system specifications
* Knowledge of materials and equipment selection for electrical projects, considering cost and performance
* Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of electrical design and implementation
