The Opportunity
Due to continued growth, we are offering an opportunity for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. If you have a passion for delivering technical excellence across complex projects and thrive in a leadership role, this could be the perfect fit.
Reporting into the Mechanical Discipline Manager as the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping our engineering capability and ensuring successful delivery of Studies, FEED, EPC and EPCM projects. You'll lead the mechanical discipline by overseeing design integrity, resource planning and coordination with other disciplines. You will deliver a fit for purpose solution for our clients on time and within budget while maintaining compliance with relevant industry regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Drive innovative mechanical engineering solutions and play a pivotal role in delivering integrated engineering designs and feasibility studies across multiple disciplines.
Lead design reviews, approve specifications and deliver cutting‑edge technical documentation.
Design & Development: Perform advanced calculations and simulations to ensure optimal performance. Validate technical deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate across disciplines for seamless integration.
Project Oversight: Manage project commercials by identifying scope variations and preparing relevant documentation accordingly.
Control budgets, mitigate risks and ensure timely delivery of technical milestones and take corrective action if necessary.
Coach and inspire engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Client Engagement: Serve as the trusted technical advisor. Build strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction through exceptional technical outcomes.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
10+ years in mechanical engineering, including 3+ years in senior / lead roles within mining, oil & gas or heavy industry.
Knowledge of Australian Standards and international codes.
Expertise in feasibility studies, conceptual / detailed design and safety in design.
You are adaptable, detail‑oriented and results‑driven.
You are highly ethical, professional and collaborative.
You are a clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement.
