## What We OfferWe are looking for a **Java Software Engineer Senior Specialist** to join a project team to deliver a leading surveillance product.
The role is based in **Sydney** with the **Nasdaq Market Surveillance team**.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney, Australia following a hybrid work model setup (at least 2 in office days per week).

## ## What You Will Do* Design, develop, troubleshooting and implement solutions to Nasdaq Market Surveillance* Reviews system requirements and business processes.
* Participate in technical design, functional specification reviews, develop project estimates, schedules, test plans, and code reviews.
* Proactively identify and resolve potential problems/issues including authoring of technical specifications.
* Determines systems software design requirements.
* Provides application software development services or technical support typically for more challenging assignments.
* Mentor others in the team on implementing system improvements, challenging the team to increase efficiency wherever possible and to utilize current industry trends.
* Participates in IT systems strategy, development and /or integrations services to clients.
## What We Expect* Have Degree qualified in Computer Science, Business/Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience* **At least 5+ years of experience** in Software Engineering using **Java**.
* Experience working in financial institutions is highly preferred but not required* Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc..) is nice to have.
* Special Qualifications: Maintains professional association memberships.
Specialized development in business acumen, financial, and critical thinking.
