Overview
Downer is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their expanding team located in either QLD, VIC or NSW.
An prospect has become available for a Senior Estimator in either Milton QLD, Melbourne VIC or Sydney NSW, for Downer\'s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Estimating Manager. The Senior Estimator will ensure accurate estimates of the total cost of projects are completed on time and in accordance with required technical and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop the estimating preparation plans and schedules to manage key tenders in accordance with the Sector calendar
- Provide advice and technical support to enable successful project/business outcomes and delivery
- Understand client requirements (this includes site visits and client engagements) and develop estimating strategies to address these requirements
- Develop first principles estimates utilising the Estimating Library to ensure compliance and the use of the correct design template
- Develop estimations as per client requirements and the schedule to the required level of accuracy and quality
- To ensure compliance with the Downer Standard through tender development, approval, negotiation, and final handover to the Project Delivery Team
- Develop strategic alliances with suppliers and subcontractors
- Non-conformances are corrected within prescribed timeframes
About You / Qualifications
- Experience in the Industrial and/or Power Generation, and or experience working with electrical estimates is preferred
- Provide sound, qualified decision-making to the estimating process, following process and protocols
- Driven by a focus on results and excellence, with a high degree of autonomy and a sense of urgency
- Relationship builder capable of communicating at all levels
- Advanced knowledge of detailed engineering, planning, and scheduling
- Exposure in estimating software Candy, plus Excel is preferred
