Job Description
Reporting to the Financial Leader - Management Accounting Services the Senior Management Accountant is a pivotal role within the Group Commercial function. You will lead financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, governance, and cost insights that directly influence strategic decision‐making. This role partners closely with operational site teams, corporate finance, and senior leadership to ensure high‐quality financial management aligned with industry best practice.
This role will be based in our corporate office located in Milton working a 40‐hour week Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Prepare monthly management reporting including variance analysis and performance insights.
* Support internal controls, SOX compliance, and key governance activities.
* Ensure accuracy, integrity, and audit readiness of financial outputs.
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Key support of the annual budgeting cycle with operational leaders.
* Support weekly, monthly and quarterly forecasting processes.
* Monitor and communicate deviations from budget and forecast assumptions.
Cost Control & Operational Support
* Partner with site teams to monitor production costs and capital performance.
* Analyse cost drivers including labour, equipment, consumables, and contracts.
* Provide financial support to the payroll team as required.
Capital & Investment Analysis
* Evaluate capital expenditure proposals including ROI and NPV assessments.
* Monitor capital spend against approved project budgets.
Compliance, Systems & Process Improvement
* Support internal and external audit processes.
* Drive improvements in financial systems, ERP enhancements, and automation initiatives.
* Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and strengthen financial governance.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
* CPA or CA qualified (or progressing).
* 5 years' experience in management accounting, ideally within mining, resources, or heavy industry.
* Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel capability.
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Pronto, Oracle).
* Experience in gold mining or resource sector operations.
* Exposure to governance, controls and SOX frameworks.
* Experience supporting multiple operational sites.
