Job Description
Carpenters are skilled craftsmen responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials. They work with a variety of tools, including hand saws, power drills, sanders, planers, and routers.
The job involves working at heights, with power tools, and in cramped spaces. It requires good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and repair structural framing, roofing, flooring, walls, and ceilings.
* Construct and install cabinets, doors, windows, trim work, and other carpentry features.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as inspecting and replacing damaged or worn-out components.
* Work with blueprints and technical specifications to ensure accurate installation and adherence to building codes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Carpenters must possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents, and have a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
They should also be physically fit, able to work at heights, and comfortable using power tools and equipment.
