Hays are currently working with one of the Federal Government's key cultural institutions based centrally in Canberra seeking an experienced EL1 Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day facility operations.
Your new role
As the Facilities Manager, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the building operates seamlessly. From day-to-day operations to strategic planning, this role is responsible for:
* Lead and motivate a small team providing building-related services.
* Manage and report on repairs, maintenance, and capital works.
* Supervise and coordinate trades personnel and contractors for daily operations.
* Contract management and participate in procurement activities for goods and services.
* Conduct regular maintenance inspections and prepare detailed reports.
* Oversee maintenance service provider
* Respond proactively to facility issues to ensure safety for all building users.
* Implement building improvements aligned with strategic maintenance plans and analyse data to reduce costs and risks.
* Collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality facilities services.
* Perform on-call duties for after-hours facility issues and ensure a consistent onsite presence.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven experience as a facilities manager or a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant certifications in facilities management or building operations preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in facilities management of buildings and strong customer service focus
