The role of the Carpenter involves carrying out a wide range of carpentry works on residential and/or commercial construction sites. Duties include interpreting construction drawings, measuring and cutting materials, and constructing, installing, and repairing timber structures and fixtures. The Carpenter is responsible for tasks such as wall and roof framing, fixing works, installation of doors and windows, skirtings and architraves, decking, pergolas, and general fit-out works.
The role requires the safe use of hand and power tools, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard in accordance with Australian building codes and workplace health and safety requirements. The Carpenter may work independently or as part of a team and is expected to communicate effectively with supervisors, builders, and other trades on site.
