Barista / Café Supervisor

Kallista Tea Rooms is a much-loved, iconic café nestled in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. Known for our famous Devonshire Teas, high tea experiences, and welcoming atmosphere, we are a busy and well-established venue with a loyal customer base and strong reputation.
We are currently seeking an experienced Barista / Café Supervisor to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, working 4 fixed days per week. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys leadership, consistency, and working in a vibrant, fast-paced café environment.
About the Role
This role combines hands-on barista work with light supervisory responsibilities. You will play a key role in maintaining smooth daily operations, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting the team during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing high-quality coffee and beverages consistently
* Supervising daily café operations during your shifts
* Supporting and guiding team members on the floor
* Delivering warm, friendly, and professional customer service
* Ensuring café standards for cleanliness, presentation, and food safety
* Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues calmly and professionally
* Assisting with opening and/or closing procedures as required
About You
* Minimum 2 years' barista experience in a busy café
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
* Confident working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and people skills
* Reliable, organised, and proactive
* Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
* Strong practical café skills are essential, and the role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and remain active during long, busy service hours.
* Available to work 4 fixed days each week (including every Saturdays)
