The Australian Government has announced the stabilisation of existing business registers and their transfer from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) back to ASIC, under the RegistryConnect (RC) Program. This program aims to deliver reliable, secure, trusted, and efficient registry services to support the economy for the benefit of all Australians.

ASIC's RegistryConnect Program is seeking a highly skilled and accomplished Business Analyst Practice Lead to contribute to its flagship technology modernisation and uplift initiative.

* Sydney or Melbourne locations
* 24 month fixed term position
* Salary from $163,970 to $184,566 (depending on experience) + 15.4 % superannuation

The Team

The Digital, Data and Technology Portfolio Office delivers a comprehensive range of project and support services to ASIC. We are responsible for driving major technology initiatives designed to transform our operations, with a strong focus on visualisation, mobility and cloud solutions. By prioritising data sharing and advanced analytics our goal is to position ASIC as a best-in-class regulator, underpinning the integrity and efficiency of Australia's financial markets.


The Role

As the Business Analyst Practice Lead, you will be instrumental in driving the success of the RegistryConnect program by shaping and advancing the business analysis capability. You will ensure that robust practices, frameworks and methodologies are consistently applied across all initiatives, delivering high-quality outcomes aligned with ASIC's strategic objectives.


More Specifically, You Will

* Uplift and strengthen business analysis capability through mentoring, methodology development, and the adoption of best-practice standards and tools for requirements and process management.
* Lead the design and implementation of business analysis frameworks aligned with BABOK principles and IIBA standards.
* Champion targeted learning and development pathways, embedding continuous improvement and professional growth across the team.
* Ensure quality assurance of business analysis deliverables and maintain rigorous documentation standards.
* Collaborate with DD&T teams to enhance organisational awareness and engagement with RegistryConnect.
* Drive and contribute to high-impact projects, applying domain expertise and providing guidance to Business Analysts.


About You

The ideal candidate this role will be a seasoned Business Analyst leader with strong expertise in BABOK and IIBA standards, Agile delivery and requirements management. You'll bring proven experience in mentoring BA teams, driving best-practice frameworks and delivering complex technology projects. Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and deep knowledge in domain areas such as Data & Analytics, Cyber & Infrastructure or Regulatory will be highly useful and valued in this pivotal role.


In Addition

* Proven experience in managing and mentoring Business Analyst teams, fostering capability development and best-practice adoption.
* Comprehensive knowledge of IT Systems Development Lifecycles (SDLC) and expertise in Agile delivery methodologies.
* Advanced skills in requirements elicitation, documentation, and management, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives.
* Proficiency in industry-standard tools for process modelling and requirements management, supporting efficient and accurate analysis.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, complemented by strong facilitation, coaching and mentoring capabilities.
* Deep domain expertise in one or more BA specialisations, such as Data & Analytics, Cyber & Infrastructure, Regulatory or Registry.
