Clinical Nurse Manager - Communicable Disease ControlThis is a Fixed Term– Full Time appointment until 11/01/2026 with the possibility of extension(s).Join a dynamic team dedicated to improving community health and wellbeing! The Great Southern Population Health Directorate integrates Public Health services with Nursing, Health Promotion, and Aboriginal Health programs, all delivered within the community. Collaboration with external partners is a cornerstone of our approach, addressing broader determinants of health beyond the healthcare system.About YouWe are looking for a passionate and experienced leader who can:Manage and lead the Disease Control Team, ensuring effective operations and compliance with public health standards.Demonstrate expertise in communicable disease management and immunisation programs, aligned with State and National health targets.Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate disease control and public health initiatives based on local, state, and national priorities.Collaborate with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers and government bodies, to coordinate outbreak management and maintain immunisation standards.Use analytical and strategic skills to monitor, interpret, and report on epidemiological and program-specific data.Foster a skilled and knowledgeable team through workforce training and professional development.Act as a consultant on public health issues, providing expertise to health services, external organisations, and community groups.If you are driven to improve public health outcomes and possess strong leadership, clinical, and strategic planning skills, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact.Key Requirements:Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.A current Immunisation Certificate.Extensive senior-level experience in community nursing within clinical and population health programs.Comprehensive knowledge of communicable disease surveillance and control methods.Advanced skills in program planning, service coordination, and evaluation.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and interpersonal abilities.Proven experience in health management systems, including data analysis and interpretation.Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements in Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, and Occupational Safety & Health.A current C or C-A class driver’s licence.Leadership and management experience in a multidisciplinary team.Postgraduate qualifications in health leadership and management or progress towards these qualifications.To learn more about the role, please refer to the attached Job Description Form and contact Michaela Blomqvist on 98427521.About UsThe WA Country Health Service’s core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to people from large regional centres to those in small remote communities.Our vision is to be a global leader in rural and remote healthcare.Our values of Community, Compassion, Quality, Integrity, Equity, and Curiosity shape who we are, how we behave, how we interact with each other, how we make decisions, and how we provide care to our patients.Why work for us?
