Job Description
Department of Health, Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team in the new Youth Mental Health Hospital in the Home (Y-HiTH) service.
The Y-HiTH is a new service for the North West region, based in Devonport. Our aim is to support young people (16–24-year-old) who may be experiencing an acute episode of mental illness to receive treatment in their home and within the community, rather than being admitted to an inpatient mental health unit or as part of a discharge plan from hospital.
About the Role
* You will work with young people and their families/significant others to develop an individual treatment plan that supports their recovery.
* As a member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide care to all consumers of the service, including biopsychosocial assessments, therapeutic engagement, monitoring and review of mental state and response to treatments, and updates to the care plan.
* You will evaluate the effectiveness of nursing strategies in meeting anticipated treatment outcomes and participate in the development and revision of organisational documentation, policies, protocols, and procedures relating to nursing best practice and the model of care for the Youth Mental Health Hospital in the Home.
About You
* You have current knowledge and experience in delivering consumer care in acute youth mental health, in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council competency standards for Registered Nurses.
* You have knowledge and understanding of the psychosocial and health needs of individuals and their application to nursing practice in the acute youth mental health setting, including maintaining appropriate therapeutic relationships with consumers.
* You have relevant experience in an acute Mental Health setting and demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act 2013.
What We Offer
* Permanent full time, day worker/shift worker position working 76 hours per fortnight.
* Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum, plus superannuation and allowances.
* Access to salary packaging benefits, including living expenses and meal entertainment.
* Payment of $15,000 staged over three years for interstate nurses and relocation assistance support up to $15,000 for overseas appointees.
* Professional development and accelerated pathways.
