The Position:
Through steady growth and a solid pipeline of future work an opportunity for a proven results driven, team first orientated individual has become available to join a motivated construction team as a Site Based; Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor for multi-level residential apartment projects.
Your Responsibilities will include:
* To foster a positive site environment where Habitat and our subcontractors are working together to complete the project safely.
* Monitor site activities and the performance of the Subcontractors ensuring that they are working efficiently, safely and in general accordance with the legislation, the national code of construction and the Habitat WPHS Plan.
* Take ownership of Habitat Work Place Health and Safety Management Plan and ensure it is implemented correctly on Habitat Sites.
* Review Subcontractors SWMS, and ensure subcontractors are working in accordance with their SWMS.
* Incident investigations to determine causes and preventative measures.
* Promote a collaborative culture between Habitat and the subcontractors to ensure project goals are achieved.
* Facilitate and co ordinate relevant safety meetings and forums for project team members, stake holders, and sub contractors.
* Provide monthly safety reports.
To be considered for this role you will need to possess and demonstrate the following:
* Experience in the Medium and High-Rise Residential Construction sector
* Experience as a Health and Safety Advisor within a similar environment
* At least 5 years' experience with a head contractor builder in the role of Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor
* Relevant tertiary qualifications
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Excellent leadership skills and solid problem-solving abilities
* An energetic and dynamic approach to Heath and Safety Management
* Proven ability to identify risks and implement safety solutions
* Very strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to champion a team environment with Habitat and the subcontractors
* Proficient in Procore (Not essential but preferred)
* Proficient in SignOnSite (Not essential but preferred)
