Theatre Orderly – Buderim Private Hospital

Employment Term: Permanent Part Time Opportunity

Location: Buderim Private Hospital, Sunshine Coast

Remuneration: $32.37 – $34.81 per hour + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Job Summary

As an Orderly, you will assist nursing staff with safe transfer, repositioning and mobilisation of patients, and with the set‐up of theatre equipment for procedures.

Responsibilities

* Assist with transportation of patients to and from the ICU, ensuring patient safety during procedures and transfers; support with patient positioning, application of diathermy plate, suction, etc.
* Handle and set up hospital equipment in preparation for procedures; collect and dispose of all waste as per Waste Management procedures.
* Follow hospital infection control guidelines.
* Assist nursing team members with various patient procedures; ensure safe manual handling and effective use of mechanical lifting aids.

Qualifications & Requirements

* 2 years' experience as a Theatre Orderly.
* Flexibility to work across all shifts – mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
* Commitment to a patient/customer‐focused service.
* Proven ability to work as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with limited supervision.
* Physical capacity to perform all duties and maintain patient confidentiality and dignity.
* Willingness to obtain required vaccinations, undergo a national criminal history check and functional assessment.
