About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Enrolled Nurse to join our Day Procedure Unit and Welcome Lounge in a full-time, permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to safe, high-quality perioperative care within a collaborative, patient-centred environment that supports your ongoing development and professional growth.
In this role, you will deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice while contributing to an exceptional experience for patients and their families.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments and communicating findings to the Registered Nurse.
* Implementing delegated, evidence-based nursing interventions and evaluating their effectiveness.
* Supporting effective discharge planning processes as delegated by the RN.
* Educating patients using appropriate resources to promote understanding and optimise health outcomes.
* Advocating for patients by ensuring consent processes and communication are clear and respectful.
* Maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment, including adherence to infection prevention practices.
* Participating in quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.
* Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Mater policies, procedures, and professional standards.
* Supporting student nurses and less experienced Enrolled Nurses through teaching and mentoring.
About you
You are an enthusiastic and patient-centred Enrolled Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced perioperative environment and demonstrates strong teamwork, communication, and clinical capability.
You will bring:
* Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Proven ability to deliver safe, evidence-based care within scope of practice.
* Strong clinical assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to Mater's Values, behavioural standards, and patient-centred care.
* Ability to uphold infection prevention standards and contribute to a safe care environment.
* Willingness to support continuous improvement and embrace change.
* A collaborative approach with the ability to build positive relationships across the care team.
