Lead Clinical Governance in Healthcare
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Health Education and Training Institute as a Lead Clinician, Prevocational Training in the Medical portfolio.
The Lead Clinician, NSW Prevocational Education and Training Council (PvTC), is responsible for clinical leadership to the education and training of prevocational trainees in NSW and provide expert advice to HETI.
The PvTC Council is the state-level governance body overseeing the education and training of prevocational trainees in NSW.
HETI is a public health organisation established in 2012 to ensure training and workforce development within the NSW Health Service is of an appropriate standard and meets with the operational and service needs of the NSW public health system.
HETI works with the Ministry of Health, the Colleges, Local Health Districts/Specialty Networks, and the Australian Medical Council (AMC) to establish and maintain appropriate training pathways in New South Wales.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to the education and training of prevocational trainees in NSW.
* Provide expert advice to HETI on prevocational education and training.
* Oversee the PvTC Council, which is the state-level governance body responsible for the education and training of prevocational trainees in NSW.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Recognised specialist qualifications with evidence of a strong commitment to improving the education and training of prevocational trainees.
* Capacity to fulfill the duties of this role within your employment.
* Proven leadership skills, high-level facilitation skills, ability to engage with stakeholders, and ability to provide strategic-level policy advice and coordination of projects/programs.
* Proven ability to impact meaningfully on training outcomes, including advocacy for junior medical staff, management of difficult issues, and high-level problem-solving and analytic skills.
* Understanding of the NSW and Australian Health system as a training environment and demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes and resolve difficulties within this structure.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, with demonstrated ability to motivate and persuade key stakeholders.
