The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men's and Women's Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. About the team

The Safeguarding and Integrity Team within the Diversity People and Culture Group enable the ASC to be a leading child safe organisation. We support compliance with legislative and policy requirements for the safety and integrity of people on our sites and in our operations. We work with teams across the ASC and with government and sporting organisations and peak bodies in the sport sector.

About the role

You will be working with athletes and stakeholders on the campus at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. You will coordinate and supervise athletes in residence and visiting the AIS. You will develop and implement programmes and policies to support a safe and inclusive stay at the AIS.

About you

Your commitment to safe and inclusive sport is essential for this role. You will be able to:

* support health and wellbeing of athletes
* respond and manage incidents
* comply with policies and procedures
* deliver programmes and support learning
* communicate and work with a range of stakeholders
* manage sensitive matters

This position is offered a FIXED TERM position until 30 November 2026 with the possibility of being extended or made ongoing.

Eligibility

* To be eligible for employment with the Australian Sports Commission, it is preferred that applicants are Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Notes

* As part of this position, the role occupant may have access to sensitive, and potentially distressing information in the areas of sexual misconduct and child safeguarding.
* The ASC is committed to protecting children from harm. We require all applicants that will work with children to undergo screening processes prior to appointment.
* Should a merit pool be established for this position, it may be used to fill ongoing or fixed term opportunities as they arise within 18 months from the date advertised.
* The ASC operates under the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is separate to the Public Service Act 1999. The ASC accepts most leave liability and recognition of prior service if you are currently employed at a Commonwealth agency.
